A Masoor Dal Kadhi from Madhya Pradesh. Try making this recipe for that extra flavour & aroma with Homemakerz Curry Salt & a pinch of Homemakerz Garam Masala!
Ingredients
For the Dhanwani
1. Masoor Dal (1 cup)
2. Fresh Coriander (1 cup)
3. Fresh Mint (1/4 cup)
4. Green Chilli (2-3)
5. Ginger (1/2 inch)
6. Homemakerz Curry Salt (1 tablespoon)
7. Homemakerz Garam Masala (1/2 teaspoon)
8. Ghee (1 tablespoon)
9. Hing (1/4 teaspoon)
For the Pakodi
1. Masoor Dal Paste
2. Homemakerz Curry Salt (1 teaspoon)
3. Oil for frying
Method
For the Dhanwani
Step 1. Grind the Masoor dal to a fine paste.
Step 2. Take 1 tablespoon of dal and mix with one cup of water and make a slurry.
Step 3. Heat the ghee, add hing and the slurry and cook over medium heat for 5 minutes.
Step 4. Make a paste of coriander, mint, ginger, green chilli and add to the slurry.
Step 5. Add Homemakerz Curry Salt.
Step 6. Cook till it slightly turns thick, add Homemakerz Garam Masala.
Step 7. Add the pakodi and serve hot with rice
For the Pakodi
Step 1. Take the remaining masoor dal paste, add Homemakerz Curry Salt and whip well for 3-4 minutes till the mixture is nice and airy.
Step 2. Dip in oil and fry till golden brown.
Step 3. Dunk pakodi in salted hot water drain and keep aside.
Tip. To check if the dal mixture is airy, put a small amount in a cup of water, if it floats then mixture is ready to fry.
